FREE – A Collecting Affair!
Celebrating the Art of Collecting
Howard Community College Rouse Company Foundation
Gallery & the Columbia Art Center’s Galleries
June 12 – 28
Collecting art is a profound and joyful experience of self expression available to anyone — the only
requirement is an openness to recognizing the voice within you that says, “I love that piece!” For “A
Collecting Affair,” we asked local art collectors to choose their favorite works for an
exhibition that spans two gallery spaces. Their insights on collecting, the artists’
backgrounds, and other examples of each artist’s work will be included. The
receptions will feature speakers and a chance to meet the artists and collectors
personally.

Before it can be collected, it has to be created! Begin your evening by meeting
local artists in their studios at the Howard County Center for the Arts. Who
knows, you just might leave with the first piece for your collection.
