Columbia Festival of the Arts 2010 Poster Design Contest

WHAT: For the seventh year, the Columbia Festival of the Arts will feature an original piece of artwork by a Howard County K-12 student on its 2010 brochures, programs and posters. The winning artwork will be purchased from the student for a cash prize of $500.

Certificates will be awarded for the best entry in each grade level and also for juror’s and director’s choice. The selected pieces will be on display at the Festival from June 11-26, 2010.

WHEN:Deadline for entry is Friday, February 5, 2010, 5:00 p.m.

The cash prize winner and those selected for the exhibit will be notified by phone by February 8th

ENTRY: Students should visually interpret the essence of a multi-disciplinary arts festival.

REQUIREMENTS: The dimensions of the of the artwork should be 16 ½" high by 11 ¾" wide on white

paper only. The artwork should not be folded.

Howard County residents enrolled in any K-12 private or public education program or non-residents enrolled in a Howard County public or private school are eligible to enter the competition.

The winning entry becomes property of the Columbia Festival of the Arts.
