“Lippman is in total command of her material, weaving strands about race, family myths and self-deception into a mystery so taut the reader is nearly afraid to keep going - and simultaneously powerless to stop.” People Magazine on Life Sentences

Wilde Lake High School graduate and former Baltimore Sun reporter Laura Lippman reads from her work, including her newest novel, Life Sentences. Her debut series featuring spunky private investigator Tess Monaghan hooked mystery readers, and she’s followed that success with acclaimed thrillers like What the Dead Know, based on the true story of the abduction of two Maryland sisters.
