Taking Flight with the Arts

Artists, nature lovers, and birds of all feathers are invited to take flight with the arts by creating a bird house for this community arts project. Individuals 18 and up can buy well built, unpainted bird houses and take them to the next level of creativity. These one-of-a-kind avian abodes will be unveiled at LakeFest on Friday, June 13, and available for sale beginning Saturday, June 14.

This GREEN project, the result of a partnership between the Howard County Woodworker’s Guild and the Columbia Festival of the Arts, was conceived to address the decline of native bird populations such as wrens and chickadees.
